Floating blimps have always intrigued me. I decided to use and merge it with
the Philippine Jeepney, infusing a bit of my heritage into the project.
I didn't want to make things too complicated, as this was my first time utilizing
an AI image generator. I started by coming up with a concept: a blimp pulling
a jeepney. I used a few prompts on Dall-e 2, and it provided me with some
intriguing images. I was able to collect four works of art from the platform.
Having artwork that I didn't draw felt strange, so I decided to use them as a
mood board and create artwork from scratch. I made some adjustments to the
mood board colors and then created thumbnail ideas of how I would integrate
the four pieces of art. After sketching, I colored the entire thing in procreate.
It didn't feel quite like me at this point, so I tried to steer clear of the mood
board's imagery. I experimented more with the details and drew a jeepney with
traditional Filipino elements. The final step involved adjusting the lighting in
Procreate and exporting the result in Photoshop.
