Roanna Williams’ passion for art is evident through her visual storytelling. It is the most authentic way she feels she can have a voice in the world.
Her work is layered in story. Using animals is a key feature. Representing either our vulnerability, our strength or the demons that lie beneath the surface. Her characters are multi-layered like each one of us, made from different fragments of our experiences. Each piece expresses a different struggle be it an internal self-imposed phenomenon or an external force affecting our everyday being.
Roanna is not only a visual artist but also an experienced brand communicator, who is currently the Chief Creative Officer of Network BBDO South Africa. She is also the chairperson of the Creative Circle – the first female to be appointed to this role.
